Shipping & Returns
1. Processing Time
Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days after payment confirmation. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays are processed the next business day.
2. Shipping Options & Rates
France (Metropolitan)
- Standard delivery — 1–3 business days — €7.90
- Express delivery — 1-2 business days — €9.90
- Free standard delivery on orders over €100
European Union
- Tracked international — 2–10 business days — €15
Rest of the World
- International tracked — 3–20 business days — €15
- Customs duties and import taxes may apply and are the responsibility of the recipient
3. Order Tracking
A tracking number is sent by email once your order has been dispatched. You can track your parcel directly on the carrier's website or via your customer account under My Orders.
4. Delivery Issues
If your parcel has not arrived within the estimated timeframe, please:
- Check the tracking information provided in your dispatch email
- Check with neighbours or your local post office (parcels are sometimes held there)
- Contact us at modernhomeparis@gmail.com if the issue persists
MODERN shall not be held responsible for delays caused by the carrier, incorrect delivery addresses provided at the time of ordering, or force majeure events.
5. No Right of Withdrawal — Hygiene & Made-to-Measure Products
In accordance with Article L. 221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to sealed goods that cannot be returned for hygiene or health protection reasons once opened.
Smart locks sold by MODERN fall within this category. No return or exchange will be accepted for personal convenience, wrong size selection, or change of mind after the order has been confirmed and dispatched.
Made-to-measure products (such as mosquito screens manufactured to the dimensions you provide) are neither returnable nor refundable: under Article L. 221-28 3° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised. Please check your measurements carefully before ordering.
6. Defective or Incorrect Products
We accept returns only in the following cases:
- Product received is defective (manufacturing defect)
- Product was damaged during transit
- Wrong product sent (does not match your order)
To request a return, contact us within 7 days of receiving your order at modernhomeparis@gmail.com with:
- Your order number
- A clear description of the issue
- Photos of the defective or damaged product
If your claim is approved, we will cover return shipping costs and offer a replacement or full refund.
7. Refunds
Approved refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days to the original payment method. Processing time may vary depending on your bank. Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
